NYA Seal Documents:
The National Yogurt Association (NYA) has launched a Live and Active Culture Seal Program for refrigerated cup and frozen yogurt products which contain a significant number of live and active yogurt cultures. The program is designed to facilitate consumer identification of such products through the use of a proprietary logo on the labels of qualifying products. In order to place the NYA Seal on a product's label, or use it in advertising, a producer or distributor must have a state or USDA-certified independent laboratory perform tests on representative samples of its product and certify that the samples meet the criteria for live and active cultures adopted by the NYA Board of Directors.
