Description

Crispy Doritos encasing molten cheese create an irresistible snack that blends crunchy Mexican-inspired flavors with gooey comfort. Indulgent bites promise a mouthwatering experience you cannot resist, delivering pure snacking pleasure in each golden, cheesy morsel.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Seasoning Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Coating and Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of Doritos (your favorite flavor)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Craft a creamy, tangy cheese blend by thoroughly mixing cheddar, mozzarella, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika in a mixing bowl.
  2. Place a dollop of the cheese mixture in the center of each Dorito chip, carefully folding the chip to completely enclose the filling and securing with a toothpick if necessary.
  3. Create a crispy coating by first rolling the stuffed Doritos in flour, then dipping into beaten egg, and finally coating with breadcrumbs for maximum crunch.
  4. Prepare a deep skillet or fryer, heating vegetable oil to 350F (175C) for optimal frying temperature.
  5. Carefully lower the breaded cheese-stuffed Doritos into the hot oil, frying in small batches until they transform into a golden, crispy exterior, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried Doritos onto paper towels to drain excess oil and absorb any remaining grease.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cheeses for smoother, easier mixing and better blending of flavors.
  • Experiment with different Dorito flavors like Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch for unique taste variations.
  • Freeze stuffed Doritos for 15 minutes before frying to help maintain their shape and prevent cheese from leaking.
  • For a gluten-free version, replace wheat flour with cornstarch or gluten-free breadcrumbs and use gluten-free Doritos.
